Discover Your PC’s Windows Performance

This tool assesses various hardware components and assigns each a score ranging from 1.0 to 9.9. Here’s how you can use this feature and understand what these scores indicate.
How to Use PowerShell to Find Your Windows Experience Score
The Windows Experience Index is a system that rates your computer’s performance by assessing different hardware components like the CPU, RAM, graphics card, and hard drive. While newer versions of Windows have phased out active use of WEI, you can still determine your system’s performance score using PowerShell. Here’s how:
To open the search menu, press Windows and S simultaneously.
Enter “PowerShell” in the search box, then click on “Run as Administrator.”
Choose Yes when the User Account Control (UAC) prompt shows up.
Open the console, enter this command, and press Enter:
PowerShell will now show the WEI scores along with additional related details.
Understanding Your PC’s Windows Experience Score
The Windows Experience Index evaluates your PC’s overall performance by using the WinSPRLevel score. This score is determined by assessing individual components of your hardware, including the CPU, memory, graphics card, and primary hard drive.
A higher WEI score indicates that your PC is better prepared for handling demanding tasks such as gaming, video editing, or multitasking. For instance, if you have a high graphics score, your system is likely to provide smoother visuals in games and other graphically intensive applications.
It’s important to keep in mind that the WEI score is only one element of evaluating overall PC performance. Other factors, such as software optimization, system maintenance, and the specific tasks you undertake also have significant impacts.
With WEI, you can gain an in-depth view of your computer’s hardware performance to ensure it aligns with your requirements. However, for more advanced performance metrics or diagnostics, I suggest utilizing third-party system analysis tools or benchmarking software on your Windows PC.
